This content is primarily intended for new users of Samsung Galaxy S5 who are trying to familiarize the different uses and functions of the many keys and sockets on the phone.
Introducing the main parts and keys of your new Galaxy S5 handset. Know them first and you're good to go.
1. On/Off key. The On/Off key has many different functions on the Galaxy S5 device. When you press this key, it will turn your phone on or off, as well as turn on the screen lock. When you press and hold this key, you will be able to access the silent and flight mode on your phone.
2. Return key. This key will let you exit an active menu item or hide the keypad by simply pressing it. The Return key is located right next to the Home key.
3. Application key. Located on the left side of the Home key, the Application key is used to view a list of the most recently used menu items and applications on your phone. Just press this key to view the list.
4. Home key. There are many functions associated with the Home key on the Galaxy S5 and other Samsung devices. Like when you press the Home key, you can get back to the Home screen. When you press and hold this key, you can search the Internet.
5. Volume key. You can toggle the volume keys to adjust the volume of your phone. When you press the upper or lower part of the Volume key, you can adjust the ring volume. When you press the upper or lower part of this key during a call, it will set the volume high or low. The volume key can also be used to silence the incoming call alert. All you have to do is to press the upper or lower part of this key.
6. Socket. The socket is where you can plug in or connect the charger or data cable into. It is also referred to as your phone's USB port.
7. Headset socket. As the name implies, the headset socket refers to the port wherein you connect the headset to.
8. Heart rate sensor. The heart rate sensor on the Galaxy S5 is located at the back of the phone, beneath the back camera. To use this sensor, just place the tip of your finger on it and the device will then check your heart rate when using the S Health feature on your phone.
9. Camera lens (back). The camera lens at the back of the phone is used by pointing at the required object to take a picture or record a video clip.
10. Camera lens (front). The camera lens at the front of your phone is used by pointing at the required object during a video all.
