You can view all views or other media contents stored on your Samsung Galaxy S5 to a television. In case you need some help in getting this done, you may refer to this content.

This tutorial is primarily aimed at helping  new users of the Galaxy S5, who are trying to connect their phone to a television to view some media files on a bigger/wider screen.

Requirements:

  • For you to view your preferred media./video files from your phone to a television, you will need an HDTV adapter.
  • The HDTV must be compatible with viewing media files like videos on your phone using an HDTV adapter.
  • Aside from the HDTV adapter, an HDMI cable is also necessary to connect your Galaxy S5 to your television.

Important Notes:

  • The HDTV adapter and HDMI cable are sold separately from your Galaxy S5 phone, which means a need for you to purchase them because they're not included in your phone package.
  • To ensure the HDMI settings are correct, please refer to your television owner's manual.
  • Some image may not be displayed when connecting the HDTV adapter to a desktop dock.

If all things are set, then you may now begin with the following steps:

1. Get the HDMI cable and HDTV adapter.

2. Connect one end of the universal HDMI cable into the HDTV adapter.

3. Connect the other end of to the HDMI port on your television. Make sure your television input settings have the correct HDMI port selected. Please refer to your television manual to ensure you're doing it correctly.

4. To keep your battery's charge, you may connect your travel charger to the HDTV adapter, and then to a power source. (optional)

5. Now, connect the HDTV adapter connector into the power or accessory interface connector on your Galaxy S5. This is the same port you usually use when connecting to your travel charger. Once you've done all these properly, you should then see the television screen instantly displaying what is currently showing on your phone's home screen.

You may now try to open and play a video from your phone, and then start viewing it on your television screen.
