Similar to the Galaxy S5, the new Samsung Galaxy Alpha also spots a floating toolbox -- a floating icon or drawer of shortcuts that when tapped, shows a list of shortcuts, allowing you to get some of the most commonly used apps quickly. Also, you can easily launch various applications from toolbox icon while using other apps.
This guide will walk you through activating and editing the floating Toolbox on the new Samsung Galaxy Alpha smartphone. You may use this content whenever you think you need it.
Start here whenever you're ready.
1. Use your finger to pull down the status bar from the top of the Home screen.
2. Now scroll to the right of the Quick Settings menu and select Toolbox.
3. After you select Toolbox from the settings menu, it will appear on the Home screen. The Toolbox icon is represented by a solid white circle icon with three dots in it. Tap that icon to launch or open an app.
4. You will now see several apps you can access. If you want to open an application, just tap and select the app icon from the list.
5. You can also change the apps contained in the toolbox. To do so, just tap and hold the Toolbox icon, then drag it towards the Edit icon on top of the screen.
Another way to do this is by tapping and holding the Toolbox in the Notification Panel.
6. In the next screen, the application lists for Edit are shown. Select the apps by placing a check mark in the box next to them and tap Done.
7. If you want to hide the Toolbox icon from the Home screen, tap and hold the Toolbox icon, then drag it to the Remove icon on top of the screen.
